Restaurants in Legian and Seminyak: Kata Bella's Picks 2026

Restaurants in Legian and Seminyak. I know some of you might think these neighbourhoods aren’t as cool as they used to be. But for many families travelling with kids, they remain a top choice because of their proximity to the airport and the convenience they offer. You’ll find everything you need here - from great 5-star hotels and beaches to shops, supermarkets, medical centres, and, most importantly, plenty of places to eat. Legian and Seminyak are packed with fantastic restaurants, from breakfast spots to dinner favourites. I used to live around here, and on a recent visit, I spent some time exploring both old favourites and new openings to find the places that I’d happily recommend to my readers. So, here are some of the places that made the list. You may also like this article: Breakfast Spots in Canggu Worth Waking Up Early For Farmer's Daughter It's not ranked by favourites, but this new spot in Legian deserves to be at the top of the list. Not only is the place cute and cosy, but it also serves excellent pastries and coffee. If you're after a proper brunch or lunch, the menu has some interesting options like cauliflower steak and fried chicken waffles. For something quick to grab on your way to the beach - which is only a two-minute walk away, you can get one of their baguette sandwiches. And whatever you do, please save room for dessert! The pistachio kunafa mousse is a must-try, or come back just for the cakes because they're absolutely worth it. Makan Place This place is best known for its pork knuckle, which they say is enough for two. But I won't judge if you decide to take that as a personal challenge. Makan Place is my go-to pit stop whenever I'm running errands around Legian because the menu covers pretty much every craving. You can have some "sneaky holiday food" like a Korean fried chicken burger or chicken parmy, or opt for something a little lighter like my favourite Asian chicken salad or the pan-seared salmon. And if you've never tried Indonesian or Balinese food before, this is also a great place for your first taste. I'd recommend starting with the beef rendang or the fried duck - both are solid introductions to local flavours. Image credit: Makan Place Instagram You may also like this article: Bali on a Budget - Cheap Eats in Canggu for Under 100K Miya Social Another new spot in Legian, this one is perfect for families. The restaurant is spacious, with plenty of parking for both cars and scooters (important for Legian!), plus a dedicated playground area to keep the little ones entertained. Their signature dish is Miya's charcoal chicken, served with your choice of sauce ranging from mild and medium to spicy or sambal matah, and you can have it with sides like sweet corn and coleslaw. Another standout is the peri-peri chicken pizza, which is well worth ordering for the table. And then of course, dessert! Try their sticky toffee pudding with miso toffee sauce, almond streusel, and vanilla gelato. Three words: yum, yumm, and yummm! Wild Habit Pizza From the name, you can probably guess that wood-fired pizza is the star of the show here. Located on a corner lot in the heart of Seminyak, it's one of those places that's easier to reach on foot if you're already exploring the area, rather than dealing with traffic and parking. I've eaten here more than once, and these are some of my personal favourites: start with the charred octopus skewers and truffle & brie croquettes, then move on to the spicy salami & mozzarella pizza and spicy chorizo vodka pasta. If you're a truffle lover, the truffle pappardelle is also a winner. And please don't skip dessert! My favourite is the Italian flourless chocolate cake. Me Vui You can eaily spot this place when you're walking around Legian. Its bright yellow façade practically invites you in, and it looks just like an eatery you'd stumble upon in Vietnam. The menu covers all the Vietnamese classics you'd hope for; comforting bowls of pho, delicious banh mi, spring rolls, and many more. I've been here so many times and so far I haven't had a bad meal. It's the kind of place that's equally good for a quick lunch, or a casual dinner with friends. If you're not sure what to order, don't stress too much, because it's one of those places where almost everything you order is a safe bet. Image credit: Me Vui Instagram You may also like this article: My Little Canggu Restaurant List - Part 1 Sushimi I have so many fond memories from my younger years at this Sushimi branch, and I'm happy to report that they’ve managed to maintain their quality after all this time. If you're after a quick sushi fix, the sushi train is the way to go. They also have an a la carte menu of Japanese comfort food and snacks. If you're arriving hungry, I'd recommend the bento set. It's a meal in itself, with a little bit of everything; sushi, edamame, karaage, and more. It also comes with miso soup and iced or hot green tea. The space is quite small and there's no dedicated parking area, so I'd suggest coming by scooter, walking if you're nearby, or simply ordering a Gojek. Sinaloa When you arrive at Sinaloa, you'll be greeted by the giant skulls at the entrance - one of the restaurant's most iconic features. If you enjoy people-watching, grab a seat downstairs by the bar, and if you'd prefer something a little quieter, head upstairs where it's usually more relaxed. This Mexican-inspired restaurant is open from breakfast through to late evening for drinks. The menu is packed with crowd-pleasers, including nachos, burritos, tacos, and churros, alongside a good selection of cocktails and refreshing drinks. While newer neighbourhoods in Bali continue to steal the spotlight, Legian and Seminyak remain two of the island's most reliable areas when it comes to food and convenience. Whether you're looking for a quick coffee, a family-friendly lunch, local Indonesian flavours, or a long dinner that turns into a late night out, there's something here for everyone. And just like my other restaurant lists, this one will continue to grow as I discover more places worth sharing. I hope you find this guide useful, and I hope it leads you to some delicious meals along the way. Happy holiday and thank you for reading!

Breakfast Spots in Canggu Worth Waking Up Early For Image

Breakfast Spots in Canggu Worth Waking Up Early For

Breakfast spots in Canggu I’m not a morning person, but I will wake up early for a warm cup of piccolo, croissants, a nice plate of eggs, bacon, baked beans, and toast that I don’t have to cook myself. Canggu really feels like it’s made for early birds though - everywhere you look in the morning, breakfast spots are always packed; from healthy to hearty, to the occasional naughty breakfast, hehe. But sometimes having too many options makes it hard to decide where to eat. So here, I’ve picked a few of my favourites for you to try - maybe one each day if you haven’t already, depending on what you’re craving. If you want to skip breakfast and go straight to lunch, or are planning a nice dinner out, you can check out my other dining list article here: My Little Canggu Restaurant List - Part 1 My Little Canggu Restaurant List - Part 2 Canteen Cafe I’ve been going to Canteen for years and basically take everyone here; friends, parents, dates, tourists, because this place is pretty laid-back and not as pricey as most breakfast spots in Canggu. I always order the same thing (I know, I know!): the Honky Tonk - homemade hash browns with poached eggs, smashed avo, bacon, and salsa. That said, I’ve tried other things on the menu every now and then, and they’re mostly good.  Canteen, if you’re reading this, please never remove the Honky Tonk from the menu or I’ll cry, kthxbye. 💰 Price range: IDR 60K-150K ⏰ Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 7am-4.30pm 📍 Address: Jl. Batu Mejan Canggu No.33, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Badung, Bali  Image credit: Canteen Cafe Instagram Rise and Shine It’s a breakfast spot that makes you go “aww” the second your food arrives. Everything is beautifully plated, but then you take a bite and realise it actually delivers. Not just pretty for Instagram, but genuinely good. Think colourful smoothie bowls, or rolled pancakes, combined with good coffee, it’s your everyday comfort breakfast but a little extra special.  Ps. There’s also another Rise and Shine in Umalas Bumbak if you happen to be around the area. 💰 Price range: IDR 50K-150K ⏰ Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 7am-5pm 📍 Address: Jl. Padang Linjong No.71, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali  Image credit: Rise and Shine Instagram You may also like this article: Best Coffee Shops in Canggu, Umalas, and Nearby Areas Island Bagels Despite the name making it pretty obvious that they sell bagels, the one thing I always order from them is...their breakfast wrap, lol! Thank you so much, Island Bagels, for keeping the Hangover Wrap on the menu for what feels like forever, because it’s still my favourite. You definitely don’t need to be hungover to enjoy this naughty little breakfast; beef patty, bacon, melted cheddar, and chilli mayo all wrapped up in one delicious bite. I’m sure their bagels are amazing too, so you should definitely give those a try, hehe. Ps. There are two Island Bagels' locations, one in Berawa and one in Pererenan. 💰 Price range: IDR 60K-150K ⏰ Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 8am-12am 📍 Address: Jalan Pantai Berawa, Tibubeneng, Kuta Utara, Canggu Image credit: Island Bagels Instagram Gather Gather around, picky eaters! *pun intended. I want to share a breakfast spot where you can build your own breakfast, so you don’t have to stress the wait staff with requests like: “Can I have only avocado slices, two eggs sunny side up (medium well, please), with bacon..but without this and that?” *guilty. Here, you can totally be that person - and if customising your own plate isn’t your thing, they also have a regular a la carte menu with plenty of classic options to choose from.💰 Price range: IDR 100K-250K ⏰ Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 8.30am-5pm📍 Address: Jl. Pantai Pererenan No.98, Pererenan, Badung Image credit: Gather Instagram Fold Good pastries, good coffee, plus aircon in Bali’s heat while most Canggu cafes are open-air - and that, kids, is how Fold wins every time. Do come early, as pastries can sell out pretty quickly. They also have cakes and proper cooked breakfast if you’re in the mood for eggs benny and all that, but I go to Fold mainly for the croissants (and sometimes donuts hehehe). 💰 Price range: IDR 50K-200K ⏰ Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 7am-6pm 📍 Address: Jl. Nelayan No.31, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Badung, Bali Image credit: Fold Instagram Butterman I used to live walking distance from Butterman, and there was a time when my diet consisted of maybe 80% almond croissants - it’s hard not to. Once or twice, I did order their breakfast menu as well, which they have alongside freshly baked pastries every day. But I usually go to Butterman for their croissants which they claim are “hotter than your man”…But I’m not quite sure how to tell them they’re wrong though, because I’m secretly married to Ryan Gosling.  💰 Price range: 50K-150K ⏰ Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 6.30am-6pm 📍 Address: Jl. Pantai Berawa No.10, Tibubeneng, Kec. Kuta Utara, Badung, Bali Image credit: Butterman Instagram Gigi Susu I still have no clue why so many people line up to take photos in front of Gigi Susu’s tiny booth, but I do know why they do it for the croissants, hehe. Getting their pain au chocolat can be quite a mission - if you want to beat the crowd, you’ve got to show up super early. I’ve only ever ordered their pastries to go and eaten them at home, hiding from the world. They’re pretty good, and huge! Oh, also, they have a dining area now too, so maybe next time I'll stay and have a big breakfast there. 💰 Price range: 50K-100K ⏰ Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 6am-10pm 📍 Address: Jl. Pantai Batu Bolong No.80, Kec. Kuta Utara, Badung, Bali  Image credit: Gigi Susu Instagram You may also like this article: Bali on a Budget - Cheap Eats in Canggu for Under 100K Milk and Madu This place has been around in Canggu for quite some time and now has branches in other locations too, and it’s still top of mind for a lazy weekend brunch, whether with friends or solo. They’ve got all the usual comfort breakfast and brunch classics like eggs benny and the rest, but I cannot not order their salted caramel cheesecake every time. Rules of society don’t exist on weekends…in Bali. You want cheesecake for breakfast? You have cheesecake for breakfast. 💰 Price range: 60K-150K ⏰ Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 7am-10pm 📍 Address: Jl. Pantai Berawa Jl. Tegal Sari No.52, Tibubeneng, Kec. Kuta Utara, Badung, Bali Image credit: Milk and Madu Instagram Little Frenchie It’s a cute little restaurant in Pererenan and it’s close to my gym, so it has become a bit of a comfort ritual after training. They have all the classic all-time favourites like butter croissants, plus must-tries like Louie’s eggs benedict and croque madame. Simple and indulgent - the kind of slow morning vibe I love. 💰 Price range: 40K-200K ⏰ Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 9am-10pm 📍 Address: Jl. Munduk Kedungu No.39, Pererenan, Kec. Mengwi, Badung, Bali Image credit: Little Frenchie Instagram Canggu can be crazy, but it has all the things I’ve come to consider basic needs, like good croissants, healthy breakfasts, and quick, easy spots nearby that open super early. Little joys like that fix everything a slow morning is supposed to. Also, half the joy here is not having to think too hard about where to go next… just follow the cravings, show up a little hungry, and let Bali do its thing. And if you end up ordering cheesecake for breakfast or queuing for pastries at 6AM, I fully support your life choices. Thank you for reading, and until my next foodie article! *chom chom chom

Vegan Cafes in Canggu: 5 Nice Spots for Your Daily Greens Image

Vegan Cafes in Canggu: 5 Nice Spots for Your Daily Greens

Vegan Cafes in Canggu I’m not vegan, but when I really think about it, the Indonesian diet is actually heavily plant-based. I grew up eating tempe, tofu, steamed mushrooms, stir-fried vegetables, and vegetable soups without ever thinking of them as “vegan food” - they were just normal everyday meals at home. Meat was often more of a side dish or something for special occasions, while vegetables, soy-based proteins, rice, and simple home cooking were the real foundation of the diet. In my family, at least. So now that I’m an adult with free will and access to basically any food I want, I still naturally enjoy vegetables every now and then. My parents eat almost entirely plant-based these days too, so I guess I still follow that rhythm - and living in Canggu definitely makes it easy, because vegan options are everywhere. Here’s a mix of places I’ve personally tried myself, plus a few recommendations from my friends too. You may also like this article: 5 Must-Visit Best Coffee Shops in Canggu, Umalas, and Nearby Areas The Shady Shack They’ve been around for ages, and they’re proof that vegan and vegetarian food doesn’t have to be sad. Find colourful nourishing plates, vegan burgers, smoothie bowls, fresh juices, and raw vegan desserts in a relaxed jungle-like setting hidden away from the main road. 📍 Jl. Tanah Barak No.53, Canggu, Kuta Utara, Badung Regency, Bali⏰ Monday to Sunday, 7.30am-10.30pm Image credit: The Shady Shack Instagram I Am Vegan Babe This place has quite an extensive menu; vegan tacos, burgers, breakfast plates, desserts, cakes, smoothies, and comfort food that doesn’t feel “too healthy". hehe. The vibe is lively, social, modern, and it’s become pretty popular among travellers staying around Canggu. 📍 Jl. Tanah Barak No.49, Canggu, Kuta Utara, Badung Regency, Bali⏰ Monday to Sunday, 7am-10pm Image credit: I am Vegan Babe Instagram You may also like this article: Things to do in Bali - Fun Art Classes at Rumah Rabbit KYND Community When you spot a bright pink restaurant on Jalan Nelayan, that’s it, that’s KYND Community. And yes, the meals really are as cute in real life as they look on Instagram. You can build your own protein bowl, or go for pasta, burgers, sandwiches, smoothie bowls, and colourful brunch plates - because vegan food doesn’t always have to be salad, right? 📍 Jl. Nelayan No.31, Canggu, Kuta Utara, Bali⏰ Monday to Sunday, 7am-9pm Image credit: Kynd Community Instagram Warung Dua Hati I feel like this place is underrated, but if you’re craving vegan Indonesian food, give Warung Dua Hati a try. Alongside local dishes, they also serve Western meals and smoothie bowls too, so you still have plenty of options. Ps. “Dua Hati” means “two hearts,” so I’m guessing that’s why the rice is heart-shaped, hehe. 📍 Jl. Pantai Batu Mejan No.12D, Canggu, Kuta Utara, Bali⏰ Monday to Sunday, 7am-10pm Image credit: Warung Dua Hati Instagram Oma Jamu Here’s another vegan Indonesian spot worth trying. Oma Jamu has a warung-style display with ready-made dishes, which is perfect if you arrive starving and want to eat straight away. And from the name “Oma Jamu,” you can expect that they also have a great selection of homemade jamu (Indonesian traditional herbal drinks). 📍 Jl. Pantai Batu Bolong No.46A, Canggu, Bali ⏰ Mon–Sat 8AM–11PM, Sun 10AM–9PM Image credit: Oma Jamu Instagram Those are my five spots for now. But really, other than the vegan-labelled cafés, it’s super easy to find plant-based options everywhere in Canggu (and in Indonesia). Most restaurants are also pretty flexible these days and cater to all kinds of diets. Hope you find this useful, and stay tuned for more on the list.

My Little Canggu Restaurant List - Part 2

Canggu Restaurant List. Hello! If you’ve somehow landed on this article, just a heads up that there’s a Part 1 over here. I’ve split this into two parts so I can categorise the restaurants based on what I actually go there for. It makes things easier to navigate and gives me room to keep growing the list over time (because… the eating continues). I don’t go out for fancy dinners often, but I do love a good girls’ night out - and don’t we always have something to celebrate? I’ve also added a little list for date nights, although in reality, those “dates” are more often spent with my girls too lol. You decide. Aaaanyway, whether you’re planning a night out, a catch-up, or just looking for your next excuse to eat - here’s my list. Plus, it’s arguably a healthier alternative to a typical night out… because, well, hot pot. If you’re coming in a group of 8–10, you can book a VIP room with a minimum spend of IDR 1.8 million in total. There are two seating times: 5pm and 8pm. You’ll find a variety of soup bases and an extensive selection of fillings; vegetarian, seafood, chicken, and premium meats - so there’s something for every diet. And oh, there’s a dedicated corner for you to mix your own sauces. 💰 Price range: From IDR 300K/ person ⏰ Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 10am-12pm 📍 Address: Jl. Padang Linjong, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Badung, Bali  Image credit: Ding Ding Instagram Khao Bali Thai food, but make it premium - that’s Khao Bali. The space is casual, with a lovely outdoor area at the back overlooking a lush garden. But at the same time, it’s also the kind of place where you can dress up a little with your friends and treat yourselves to something nice. All the Thai classics are still there, like tom yum, curries, fish cakes, and they’re just as flavourful as they are in Thailand. But with added finesse, using locally sourced ingredients from Bali. 💰 Price range: From IDR 200K/ person ⏰ Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 10am-11pm 📍 Address: Jl. Pantai Batu Mejan, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Badung, Bali Image credit: Khao Bali Instagram Muda by/Suka  “Asian cuisine with a twist,” as food reviewers would say. I’ve honestly lost count of how many times I’ve celebrated special occasions here - my girls know how much I love this place that they once threw me a surprise bachelorette party here, haha. My idea of a party involves really good Asian food like their salmon nori tacos, tenderloin pad see ew, or miso-glazed charcoal chicken. And please, make room for dessert because their whiskey chocolate lava cake is worth every calorie. Oh, and don’t skip the cocktails - Masih Muda (still young”) with lychee liqueur is my favourite.  💰 Price range: From IDR 250K/ person ⏰ Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 4.30pm-10pm 📍 Address: Jl. They’ve recently revamped the menu - shifting from Spanish to a broader Mediterranean direction. But don't worry, the restaurant’s signature paella remains a staple - generously loaded with seafood, scallops, prawns, and a rich squid ink sofrito. The new dishes are complemented by a cocktail list inspired by the winds of the Mediterranean sea, plus an intimate Chef’s Counter experience where you can sit by the kitchen and enjoy a seasonal, chef-led journey. 💰 Price range: From IDR 350K/ person ⏰ Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 6pm-12am 📍 Address: Jl. A beautiful beachfront venue with an Asian-inspired menu by Chef Andrew Walsh. A lineup that sounds “simple”, like potato bread with butter to start, steak tartare polenta, and roasted chicken with Japanese rice delivers far more depth than you’d expect. Finish strong with their cocktails. I went for their Tea & Citrus - a perfect mix of dry gin and earl grey tea, yum! You can sit by the open kitchen and watch the magic happen, settle into the comfy dining area, or head outside for the sea breeze and the sound of the waves. There’s also a private room if you’re after something more intimate. 💰 Price range: From IDR 350K/ person ⏰ Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 5pm-12am 📍 Address: Jl. Munduk Catu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Badung, Bali Shelter Candlelit tables, a tropical ambience, an open-air space and most importantly, amazing food - that makes a perfect date night. I always start with the hummus with a crunchy surprise that I like, and warm, comforting flatbread. Then it’s mains to share: roasted scallops, roasted king prawns, and barramundi. And of course, cocktails. Sometimes I stick to the classics, but other times I go for Kembang Desa (the village star); gin with jasmine, lychee, and lemon. 💰 Price range: From IDR 250K/ person ⏰ Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 12pm-12am 📍 Address: Jl. That said, the grill section makes a very convincing argument too, with options like rib-eye, and pork chop quietly stealing the spotlight. And did I mention the tiramisu is mandatory? It’s not optional. It’s not your typical pasta joint either - the space leans more urban chic with a hint of coastal vibes. It’s the kind of place where you can dress up if you feel like it, but it’s more effortless chic than full-on fancy. 💰 Price range: From IDR 250K/ person ⏰ Opening hours: Mon-Fri 5pm-12am, Sat-Sun 12pm-12am 📍 Address: Jl. For those evenings when you feel like being taken care of with hearty food, good wine, and a warm, inviting ambience, Masonry ticks all the boxes. It’s an open, airy space with that easy Bali feel. When you step into Lulu Bistrot, you almost forget you’re in Bali. The ambiance is sophisticated, but not snobbish - if you know what I mean. I’m not usually a big fan of red meat, but with something as good as their steak… yes, puh-lease. It might sound exaggerated, but everything on the menu is muachh! *chef’s kiss.  💰 Price range: From IDR 250K/ person ⏰ Opening hours: Mon-Fri 5pm-12am, Sat-Sun 11am-12am 📍 Address: Jl. Pantai Batu Bolong No.72, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Badung, Bali Image credit: Lulu Bistrot Instagram Ok, so that’s Part 2 of my ever-growing list - because I love food, I love eating out, and this is just a tiny slice of Canggu I’ve explored. There’s still so much more to discover here and across Bali… but only so much space in my stomach, lol. New spots keep popping up, so yes, this list is definitely continuing. I hope this gives you a few new places to try. Until the next round of “research”… see you at the table and thank you for reading!

SKAI Bar & Grill in Legian: Same Soul, Refined Experience

The good old Legian never dies. I spent so much of my childhood in this neighbourhood that walking back through it now feels a bit like flipping through an old photo album; familiar corners, same vibe, and that nice feeling that not everything has changed. It’s comforting, in a way, to see some of the same restaurants still around - quietly standing the test of time.  And if you know, you know…some places, they evolve, but never lose their charm. Not trying too hard, not chasing trends - just naturally keeping up, staying relevant in their own way, while holding on to what made people fall in love with them in the first place. One of them is SKAI Bar & Grill, formerly known as SKAI Beach Club. And yes, as the name suggests, the concept’s had a bit of a glow-up. The heart of it never goes anywhereOpen Flame, Bold Flavours, and Signature Cuts You may also like this article: Bali Home Bakeries to Sweeten Your Celebrations The heart of it never goes anywhere Don’t worry though, the iconic beachfront pool and those outdoor seats we all love are still very much there (I know, some memories are just too good to let go of). It still carries that same laid-back, by-the-sea energy that made it such a favourite in the first place. But now, there’s a cosy indoor extension with 34 seats - perfect if you’re into that open-flame, grill-side kind of experience that SKAI Bar & Grill is leaning into. There’s also a new terrace that low-key feels like a secret garden - very much an evolution of the OG SKAI vibe. Think floor-to-ceiling windows, lush greenery everywhere, and laser-cut screens that look dreamy during golden hour (warm, dappled light kind of situation). The seating is all hand-woven in soft driftwood greys and sandy taupes, tying everything back to the natural beachy colour palette (my bright pink outfit would really pop here! hehe). So yeah, anyway - new space, same soul. The new seating area that feels warm and homely You may also like this article: Brunch in Bali - Rediscovering Legian through Farmer’s Daughter Open Flame, Bold Flavours, and Signature Cuts Now onto the food - because this is the even more interesting part. Picture all that calming seaside ambience paired with their heroes on the menu; tender cuts with za’atar, citrusy sumac, a touch of smoky paprika. Simple, but so good. Add in the sea breeze, some greenery, and soft lantern light overhead… it’s seaside dining, in Bali, but with a slice of Eastern Mediterranean twist. At the heart of it all is an open kitchen. You get to watch the chefs fully in their element, working the fire and charcoal. There’s something quite satisfying about seeing it all happen right in front of you. This is where SKAI’s signature cuts come in; Angus tenderloin, grass-fed MB3+, pork chop Pata Negra Ibérico, and more. And if you’re someone who likes to choose your cut properly, you’ll appreciate this: the dry-aging chamber is now on display too, beautifully laid out on rustic maple boards. Take your time, have a look, and pick exactly what you’re in the mood for. The kind of spread that feeds the soul All in all, SKAI Bar & Grill, and this new expansion, is such a lovely addition to Legian’s dining scene. It’s one of those spots that feels familiar, but in the best, refreshed kind of way - like coming back to something you love, but better than you remember. And the fact that it’s located at Padma Resort Legian, a resort that holds so many beautiful memories for me, just makes it even more special to me! 🫶🏻✨ SKAI BAR & GRILL🥩 Cuisine: Eastern Mediterranean💰 Price range: From 250K/ person⏰ Opening hour: Mon-Thu, 12pm-11pm/ Fri-Sat, 12pm-12am, Sun, 12.30pm-11pm📍Address: Jl. My Little Canggu Restaurant List - Part 1

Canggu Restaurant List. Canggu might be a teeny, tiny spot on the map of Bali, but it has pretty much everything you need. From places to stay, entertainment, gyms to most importantly...food, the options are endless. We are spoiled for choice here, with everything from Indonesian and Asian to Western favourites. It almost makes the chaotic streets feel… worth it, lol (for those who keep asking why I live in Bali’s busiest hotspot). With so many places to try, there’s no way I can squeeze everything into one article - so I’m breaking it into two (maybe even three). So here’s part one: my Canggu restaurant list for light bites and healthy options. On those days, I either drive to Deli Canggu or GoFood for their sandwiches. They literally only do sandwiches on the entire menu, plus a few sides and drinks. My number one pick is the beef pastrami sourdough sandwich, followed closely by the roast chicken focaccia. 💰 Price range: IDR 75K-85K  ⏰ Opening hours: Mon to Fri, 6am-6pm 📍 Address: Jl. Nelayan No.73c, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Badung, Bali Image credit: Deli Instagram Tony’s New York Pizza Who knew my jiu jitsu coach would turn out to be a pizza-preneur, and a good one too?! It started with a small pizza joint in Pererenan, I blinked and now I’ve lost count of how many branches he has across Bali alone. Anyway, I’m not just saying this just because I like Tony (halo Pak!) but the pizzas are good. Nice crispy dough, great sauce, generous toppings…everything just hits right, the way a proper New York slice should. Pepperoni is a must-have, but my personal favourite is the buffalo chicken pizza, paired with one of those lemony fizzy drinks from the fridge and lots of ice. Mantap! 💰 Price range: IDR 50K-150K ⏰ Opening hours: Mon to Fri, 11am-12am, Sat and Sun 11am-1.30am 📍 Address: Jl. Raya Tiyingtutul No.25, Canggu, Kec. They serve Japanese comfort food like sushi, curry rice, karaage, and gyoza, and I always have to save room for their matcha mochi ice cream, which very often sells out. 💰 Price range: IDR 100K-250K per person ⏰ Opening hours: Mon to Fri, 11am-11pm 📍 Address: Jl. They’ve opened a few other branches now, but since I live in Canggu, this is my go-to. When I need something quick after the gym, I usually get com ga (gilled boneless chicken with a sunny-side-up egg and rice). If I’m feeling a bit tired or under the weather, their hearty beef or chicken pho always hits the spot. And when I’m feeling a little snacky (and naughty), I can’t resist their deep-fried spring rolls. 💰 Price range: IDR 35K-150K per person ⏰ Opening hours: Mon to Fri, 9am-10pm 📍 Address: Jl. They’ve recently moved to a new space that’s bigger and more comfortable, making it even better for a cosy meal. It’s perfect for those days when you’re craving something warm and soupy, like ramyeon or sundubu. They also serve the all-time favourite Korean gochujang chicken and, of course, Korean sushi rolls. 💰 Price range: IDR 150K-250K per person ⏰ Opening hours: Mon to Sun, 10am-10pm 📍 Address: Check their Instagram for the new location Image credit: Soogi Roll Instagram Yumei Noodles You should try Yumei if you like Sichuan-style noodles. The noodles are made fresh daily. Their braised beef noodles are the star on the menu, but I prefer their dry noodles - you can have it spicy, medium spicy, or not spicy at all. The portions are big for me, so I usually share one with a friend and order wontons on the side. It’s the kind of comforting, no-fuss meal that hits the spot every time. 💰 Price range: IDR 150K-250K per person ⏰ Opening hours: Mon to Sun, 11am-2am 📍 Address: Jl. Nelayan No.34, Canggu, Kec. And when that happens, I head straight to Anaga for their tom yum, which tastes just like the ones I've had in Thailand. If I'm going with a group of friends, we'll usually order a few dishes to share, like the pad thai, Thai fried chicken, fish cakes, and red curry. Ps. They have shirataki tom yum fried "rice" on the menu if you're trying to cut back on carbs but still want to indulge a little *wink wink 💰 Price range: IDR 150K-250K per person ⏰ Opening hours: Mon to Sun, 11am-10pm 📍 Address: Jl. I love all kinds of food and international cuisines, but I’m almost always in the mood for warm rice with stir-fried vegetables, dumplings, noodles, honey sesame chicken, or black pepper beef. So yeah, that’s how I know I was meant to be born in this world as an Asian. 💰 Price range: IDR 150K-250K per person ⏰ Opening hours: Mon to Sun, 11am-10pm 📍 Address: Jl. You can have it with rice, like a poke bowl, or go all-in on greens - it’s already super filling because of the generous portion (sometimes I can’t even finish). You can also build your own bowl - which I always do because I’m picky, hehe. I usually go for miso prawn or chimichurri chicken for the protein, along with all the beaaans!By the way there’s also another Unibowl in Umalas Bumbal.  💰 Price range: IDR 65K-150K per person ⏰ Opening hours: Mon to Fri, 12pm-9.30pm 📍 Address: Jl. Mengwi, Badung, Bali Image credit: Unibowl Instagram Taco Casa Another option for delicious, health-ish food: Mexican (well… if you don’t go too hard on the sour cream and crispy tortillas lol). Go for a naked burrito with chicken, or their soft tacos with the protein of your choice. It’s never a bad idea to grab a quick lunch at Taco Casa. You can also check out their other locations in Petitenget or Ubud. 💰 Price range: IDR 65K-150K per person ⏰ Opening hours: Mon to Fri, 10am-10pm 📍 Address: Jl. Batu Mejan Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali Image credit: Taco Casa Instagram Organicali You can find salads and wraps here at pretty reasonable prices, and they’re actually good. There’s also a build-your-own option if you want to customise. They’ve got low-calorie rice bowls too - I haven’t tried them yet, but the menu looks interesting: fajita chicken, chicken rendang, Korean BBQ, and more. 💰 Price range: IDR 65K-100K per person ⏰ Opening hours: Mon to Sun, 8am - 10pm 📍 Address: Jl. Raya Semat, Tibubeneng, Badung, Bali  Instagram credit: Organicali Instagram Warung Coco Healthy doesn’t always have to mean salad, right? And you really can’t separate Indos from nasi campur (rice with various side dishes), hehe. I like Warung Coco because the food tastes clean and light, not oily like a lot of Indonesian or Asian food can be. It also doesn’t feel too heavy on the salt or seasoning. I’ve always ordered it online through GoFood or GrabFood, but you can also dine in at their warung. 💰 Price range: IDR 50K-100K per person ⏰ Opening hours: Mon to Sat, 11am-5pm 📍 Address: Tumbak Bayuh, Mengwi, Badung, Bali  Image credit: Warung Coco Instagram The list will keep growing as I find more places I like. Bali on a Budget: Cheap Eats in Canggu for Under 100K

Cheap Eats in Canggu When friends ask me, “Is Bali expensive?”, it’s not really a yes or no answer - it really depends on your lifestyle, what you like, what you need, what you’re used to...and what you eat. I’m a local, so my diet is pretty simple: chicken and rice is already more than enough. I’m also always happy with tempe, stir-fried veggies, and rice for just around 20K a plate. But if you’re here on holiday, you might want to treat yourself - and it’s very easy to spend 500K or even 1 million per person on a nice steak or a proper indulgent dining experience. And if you’re travelling Bali on a budget, warung (a small local eatery serving pre-cooked, homemade Indonesian dishes) is your best friend, along with these spots around Canggu I’ve carefully curated that are affordable, clean, and less likely to give you Bali belly. Cheap Eats in Canggu You may also like this article: 5 Must-Visit Coffee Shops in Canggu, Umalas, and Nearby Areas THE GOOD OLD WARUNGS Warung Sika This is probably my most-visited warung in Canggu. I love it because they have such an extensive menu - some dishes rotate, but many are available every day. Try the tempe orek (stir-fried tempe), chicken rendang, bakwan jagung (corn fritters), and pretty much any of the veggie dishes - they’re all good. Just a heads-up: it can get super busy around lunchtime, so be prepared to queue, or try coming before or after 12. 💰 Price range: IDR 25K-75K/ meal ⏰ Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 9am-9pm 📍 Address: Jl. Tanah Barak No.45, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Badung, Bali Image credit: Warung Sika Instagram Warung Jawa Bu Sri I think this warung is underrated. But if you want true Indo flavours, the kind we actually eat every day (not the adjusted versions for tourists), this is where you should go. You’ll find proper local dishes like pecel (steamed veggies with peanut sauce), ayam suwir balado (shredded chilli chicken), and Javanese-style rendang. Sri is the name of the super lovely lady who owns and runs the warung. 💰 Price range: IDR 15K-30K/ meal ⏰ Opening hours:  📍 Address: Jl. Pantai Batu Bolong Br No.19, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Badung, Bali Image credit: Warung Jawa Bu Sri Instagram Warung Makan Siang This is the kind of warung that makes you feel like you’ve just dropped by a friend’s place and she’s cooked for you, hehe. The space is small, but just right. They’ve got all the usual Indonesian favourites on rotation, and every now and then there are special dishes like rawon (black beef soup) or sayur lodeh (vegetable soup with coconut milk). They also often stock desserts and iced coffee from local home businesses, which makes it feel even more homely. 💰 Price range: IDR 25K-50K ⏰ Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 11.30am-4pm 📍 Address: Jl. Beringin, Dalung, Kec. Kuta Utara, Badung, Bali Image credit: Warung Makan Siang Instagram Warung Local I’ve been a customer since they first opened and I once sold my homemade cookies there, hehe. It’s great to see them growing bigger now (literally, space-wise). If you’re new to warung food, Warung Local is a good place to start. The flavours are “Indonesian enough” for us locals, but not too heavy on the seasoning, if you know what I mean. It’s also on the main Batu Bolong street, so it’s really easy to spot. 💰 Price range: IDR 50K-90K ⏰ Opening hours: Monday to Sunday 10am-10pm 📍 Address: Jl. Pantai Batu Bolong No.10, Canggu, Badung, Bali Image credit: Warung Local Instagram Warung Tiga Tiga means three, and yes - it’s the same as Warung Dua (two) in Umalas. I’d call this an elevated version of an Indo warung, because aside from the Indonesian menu, they also have Western favourites like lasagna and quiches, plus some healthier options - quite a few salad choices too. Price-wise, it’s adjusted to what they offer, so it’s more expensive than a regular warung, but still affordable. 💰 Price range: IDR 50K-90K ⏰ Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 7am-11pm 📍 Address: Jl. Nelayan No.27, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Badung, Bali Image credit: Warung Tiga Instagram You may also like this article: Bali Home Bakeries to Sweeten Your Celebrations RICE BOWL, NOODLES, AND EVERYTHING ELSE Nasigo Rice bowls are probably the best fix when you’re busy and starving. Rice and protein in one container - whoever came up with that, thank you! Nasigo has a solid range of chicken options, from teriyaki to green chilli, starting from just 35K. If you’re more into beef, they’ve got ground beef with basil and a beef patty from 45K. Portions are generous too.  And if you’re in the mood for something sweet, their iced matcha latte is a nice pick from just 35K. Get both a rice bowl and a matcha, and you’re still spending under 100K - not bad at all. 💰 Price range: From IDR 35K-45K ⏰ Opening hours: Monday to Saturday, 11am - 8pm 📍 Address: Jl. Raya Babakan Canggu No.91, Kec. Kuta Utara, Badung, Bali  Image credit: Nasigo Instagram Daeng Burger Not all burgers in Canggu are pricey -  some are still super affordable (but also decent), like Daeng Burger. They’ve got a wide range from classic beef burgers to chicken and vegetarian options, but my personal favourite is their Morrokowich panini. It’s got grilled harissa chicken, cheddar cheese, pico de gallo, rocket, and tzatziki sauce, and very delicious for just….drumroll please…59K! Woot woot! 💰 Price range: 59K-90K ⏰ Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 11am - 1am 📍 Address: Jl. Raya Babakan Canggu No.33A, Kec. Kuta Utara, Badung, Bali Image credit: Daeng Burger Instagram Warung Ayu Ayam Bakar Ala Jimbaran This is a proper local Indo grilled chicken and seafood spot, but I’ve taken so many of my foreign friends here and they’ve all loved it so far. It’s done in that Jimbaran-style grilling; smoky, slightly sweet, nicely charred, and super flavourful, without having to drive all the way to Jimbaran. You can get a simple plate of rice and grilled chicken from just 45K, or go for a sharing platter that works for 2 up to 10 people if you’re coming with a group. You can also order your favourite seafood individually, from grilled fish to prawns, and more, and build your own feast. Super flexible, super satisfying, and great value for money.  💰 Price range: 45K-90K ⏰ Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 11am - 10pm 📍 Address: Jl. Pererenan, Kec. Mengwi, Kabupaten Badung, Bali Image credit: Warung Ayu Google page You may also like this article: Brunch in Bali - Rediscovering Legian through Farmer’s Daughter Amy Wong Sometimes I’m in the mood for some Chinese-Indo comfort food, and when that craving hits, I always order from Amy Wong. They’ve got a cute little space, but somehow I always order online and I pretty much stick to the same thing every time: kwetiau goreng spesial (stir-fried rice noodles). Fun fact: when Indos put “spesial” on the menu, it usually means you’re getting the full upgrade; either a fried egg on top and/or all the extra topping, hehe. And also, don’t skip their fried bakso (Indo-style meatballs) for a snack! 💰 Price range: 25K-60K ⏰ Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 11am - 9pm 📍 Address:  Jl. Pantai Berawa, Tibubeneng, Kec. Kuta Utara, Badung, Bali  Image credit: Amy Wong Instagram Mie and More This little noodle shack makes one of the best Sichuan noodles I’ve had. Also, they added chicken and beef curry noodles to the menu, which is very dangerous (for my self-control). Be careful with their chilli oil - it’s so good you’ll want to pour a lot, but it packs a punch. And complete your noodles with a side of dumplings. They’ve got options from chicken, beef, pork, to mushroom. 💰 Price range: From IDR 50K ⏰ Opening hours: Mon, Wed-Sat, 1pm-12am, Tue 4pm-12am, Sun 7pm-12am 📍 Address:  Jl. Pantai Batu Bolong No.26, Kec. Kuta Utara, Badung, Bali  Image credit: Mie and More Instagram Happy Pork Rendang Rendang, but make it pork. It might be controversial in some parts of Indonesia, but clearly not in Bali, especially when it’s this good. True to the name, they specialise in pork rendang (that rich, slow-cooked Indonesian dry curry we all love). You can have it the classic way with rice, or switch things up with rendang nasi goreng, a rendang rice burger, or even a burrito. I’ve only tried it the traditional way so far, but I’m sure the rest of the menu is just as good. 💰 Price range: From IDR 25K ⏰ Opening hours: Mon-Sun, 8am-10pm 📍 Address: Jl. Raya Babakan Canggu No.27, Kec. Kuta Utara, Badung, Bali Image credit: Happy Pork Rendang Instagram So, what do you think? Is Bali expensive? It really depends on how you choose to experience it. Here are just a few of my regular places around Canggu - and of course, the list will continue. What I like about living in Bali (or in Indonesia in general) is that it doesn’t force you into one way of living. You can keep it ultra-local with a 20K plate of rice from a humble warung, or go for the fancy options - both are valid ways to enjoy the island. Thank you for reading!

Bali Home Bakeries to Sweeten Your Celebrations: Updated List 2026

I’m all about supporting local bakeries, especially since I was once a home baker myself - though my baking career only lasted two years during the pandemic lol. That short stint gave me a real appreciation for how challenging it is to run a home bakery. You’re basically a one-person show, handling everything from taking orders and buying ingredients to the actual baking, packaging, and delivery. It’s a non-stop hustle, and knowing that, I make it a point to support small, emerging businesses whenever I can. In this article, I have collected my top favourite home bakeries that I think deserve a spotlight. Whether you’re planning a celebration or just looking for a sweet treat to brighten your day, these gems will not disappoint. So, let’s dive in and show some love to these talented bakers! Homie BunsBakeOvenLocale BakedFika & StoriesI Bake You EatLittle G Bu Toha You may also like this article: 5 Must-Visit Coffee Shops in Canggu, Umalas, and Nearby Areas Homie Buns https://www.instagram.com/homiebuns They make breads ranging from simple shapes to adorable designs, with a variety of fillings like chocolate, hazelnut, vanilla, salted caramel, as well as cupcakes and cookies. They even have a special birthday edition that comes with candles and a lovely ribbon-wrapped box. Now, they regularly create hampers for special occasions like Christmas, Eid al-Fitr, Chinese New Year, and Galungan, making them well worth checking out if you’re looking for a thoughtful gift for family and friends. Image credit: Homie Buns Instagram BakeOven https://www.instagram.com/bakeoven.id Their greatest hit is the cheesetart. And while the original is always a classic, my personal encore goes to the lemon tart, John Lemon, especially when enjoyed half-frozen! Trust me on this little trick and thank me later! 😉 And their menu is a symphony of puns: Edam Levine (yes, it features Edam cheese, lol), and Ayumi Hamachaki, a delightful choice for matcha lovers - highly recommended. You can order via Gojek, or catch them live at La Brisa Market every Sunday. Image credit: BakeOven Instagram You may also like this article: Goolali Gelato Bar & Pâtisserie: Semarang’s Sweetest Escape Locale Baked https://www.instagram.com/localebaked When you think of scones, think of Locale Baked. They offer everything from classic plain scones to unique flavours like lemon glazed, salted caramel butter (their top three bestsellers), earl grey, double chocolate, and even savoury options like garlic butter herb and cheddar tomato basil. A friend recommended them, so I decided to order for another friend's birthday - and she absolutely loved it! If you go for the classic plain scones, they come with cream and jam. Besides scones, they also whip up choux, pound cakes, éclairs, and other special-edition sweet treats. Image credit: Locale Baked Instagram Fika & Stories https://www.instagram.com/fika_and_stories This one is a newcomer to Bali’s home-bakery scene, but it’s already getting plenty of attention for its delicious cinnamon buns. What makes it special is its focus on Swedish treats - fika is a Swedish tradition of enjoying coffee, usually with something sweet. Staying true to its name, they bake small batches of Swedish favourites like biskvi, a chewy almond base topped with buttercream and dipped in chocolate; kolasnittar, Sweden’s beloved cookies with crisp edges and a chewy centre; and thumbprint cookies, buttery shortbread filled with strawberry jam. Image credit: Fika & Stories Instagram I Bake You Eat https://www.instagram.com/i_bakeyoueat I ordered their carrot cake just for fun - no special occasion. But since they make whole cakes in a mini size (10cm diameter), it was the perfect little treat! They deserve the highest compliment an Asian can give a cake: NOT...TOO....SWEET!!! hehe. Besides carrot cake, they also make salted caramel coffee cake, matcha dark chocolate cake, and Dutch boterkoek. These cakes also come in a sharing size (18cm). Image credit: I Bake You Eat Instagram Little G  https://www.instagram.com/littleghomebake They make whole cakes and I discovered Little G because so many of my friends have ordered from them over the years - so I figured, they must be good, right? One day, in true last-minute fashion (because I’m so organised like that, lol), I messaged them to order a birthday cake for my husband. Despite the short notice, they responded with a positive "can-do" attitude, accepted my order, and delivered exactly what I asked for. The birthday boy absolutely loved it, and as a serious cake lover, his review is trustworthy. I can’t say the same for myself since I don’t eat cake, but with his honest feedback and the rave reviews from my cake-loving friends, I wholeheartedly recommend Little G for your special occasions - just try to be more organised than me 😉 Image credit: Little G Instagram You may also like this article: Brunch in Bali - Rediscovering Legian through Farmer’s Daughter Bu Toha https://www.instagram.com/butoha_ As a true Indo kid, I can’t leave out jajan pasar (various Indonesian traditional snacks, commonly found in markets), because they are a staple for special occasions. A few times, I’ve even sent jajan pasar as a birthday gift for friends. These traditional Indonesian treats aren’t just delicious and nostalgic; they also make for a beautiful and thoughtful present. My go-to place is Bu Toha. They offer stress-free packages if you want everything pre-arranged, but if you’re feeling picky, you can customise your own tampah (woven bamboo tray) hamper by ordering items individually (just keep in mind there’s a minimum order for each). They also make Balinese jajan pasar, which is perfect for friends celebrating Balinese ceremonies. Image credit: Bu Toha Instagram At the end of the day, what makes home bakeries special isn’t just the cakes or the cookies - it’s the heart behind them. Each order supports someone’s passion, creativity, and countless hours spent perfecting their craft, often from their own kitchen. So whether you’re celebrating something big or simply craving a little sweetness, choosing a local home bakery is always a good idea. And if you discover your new favourite homemade treats along the way, share it with me! I will happily try it and feature it in this article.

Brunch in Bali: Rediscovering Legian through Farmer’s Daughter

Brunch in Bali has taken on many forms over the years, but while trendy neighbourhoods like Canggu and Uluwatu rise in popularity, Legian will always hold a special place in my little heart. I still have core memories of me and my cousin wandering the streets of Legian, going to the beach and getting our hair braided, shopping at Surfer Girl, when days felt unhurried and things were simpler. The neighbourhood has changed so much since then, as places naturally do. Still, there are pockets of Legian that feel reassuringly timeless. Some hotels have remained local favourites since the 90s, like Bali Mandira, holding onto their charm while growing alongside the area. And tucked away on a small street leading to the iconic Padma Beach - one of the surfers’ go-to spots, you’ll find a new charming coffee shop called Farmer’s Daughter. You make also like this article: 4 Must-Visit Underrated Coffee Shops in Canggu, Umalas, and Nearby Areas A Charming Coffee Shop in LegianRomanticising My Brunch in BaliSomething that Feels Like Home The warm welcoming ambiance of Farmer's Daughter A Charming Coffee Shop in Legian Decorated in woven bamboo, with earthy tones and natural textures, Farmer’s Daughter blends effortlessly into Bali’s laid-back rhythm. Its exterior alone already sets the tone: relaxed and inviting. This is the kind of coffee shop in Legian that feels perfect for slow mornings, brunches, or those unplanned meals that turn into long conversations. Whether you’re easing into the day with breakfast or stopping by after a beach walk, it immediately feels like somewhere you’re meant to linger. Romanticising My Brunch in Bali Serving everything you’d expect from a Bali café, Farmer’s Daughter offers a comforting menu of freshly baked pastries, desserts, and holiday-style dishes like pasta and fish and chips. (I still call it “holiday food” even though I live here, because it is what it is! lol.) For those days when you don’t feel like eating meat - which happens to me sometimes, there are also plenty of vegetarian options on the menu. Everything is made using locally sourced ingredients, which feels very on-brand for Bali. The island is blessed with such fresh produce, and I genuinely think every business should embrace that more. It’s one of the things that makes brunch in Bali feel special: simple food done well, with ingredients that actually taste like they were grown nearby. Farmer's Daughter has everything from pastries, desserts, and main courses Something that Feels Like Home The name "Farmer’s Daughter" is just so cute! It gives off that girl-next-door vibe; warm, humble, kind-hearted, and friendly - don’t you think? And it suits this little nook in Legian perfectly. Everything about the place feels genuine and unpretentious, from the décor to the service. There’s no pressure to dress up or rush through your meal. Instead, you’re met with effortless Indonesian hospitality that feels sincere and comforting, the kind that makes you want to come back. You’ll see a mix of locals, surfers fresh from the waves, families, and travellers who’ve wandered in by chance. It feels like a true neighbourhood coffee shop in Legian - welcoming to everyone.
